• November 27, 1966 issue of the Los Angeles Times' West magazine featuring mult-page article on "The Frenzied Frontier of Pop Music" with Brian Wilson, Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, Byrds, and others.

• The December 1966 issue of The Village Voice, a NYC mag, had Zappa on the cover, plus a review of The Mothers' 1st ever NYC performance, Balloon Farm, and a half-page ad for the 'Legalize Theraputic Abortion' gig.

• Issue number 12 of Dutch Hitweek magazine had a cover story on the release of "Freak Out" !!

• Issue number 2 of Dutch magazine Wittekrant included a (translated) interview with Frank Zappa.

• The January 1967 issue of Teen included a 3-page article: Zappa explains freaking out!.

• This L.A. and S.F. newspaper included a Zappa statement on poison gas and a FZ poster giveaway.

• The May 25, 1967 issue of The Village Voice, a NYC mag, had Zappa on the cover, a picture taken athe the Village Voice 'Obies' Awards at the Village Gate. The Mothers opened the show with a 20-minute set. The article mentions the Garrick Theater engagement [pigs & repulsive] starts that week, and it includes an ad for the mothers at the cafe a go go (hateful, repugnant & a waste of money).

• Issue number 37 of Hit Parader included a 2 page story 'The Boss Mother ...... Meets The Animals' written by FZ.

• This August 26 issue of Melody Maker had Zappa on the cover with the famous "Meet A Mother!" slogan. The same issue also includes a 1-page article: 'Meet The Boss Mother Sussing Out Britain'.

• This september issue of Jazz & Pop presented a 7-page Frank Zappa interview by Frank Kofsky [part 1]. The back cover has the 'long & slippery' hagstrom ad, and it also includes a full page ad for "Absolutely Free".

• This May issue of Hej presented a 1-page Zappa article with mail-in Zappa poster ad plus a review of Tim Buckley's "Happy Sad" album.

• the June 1969 issue of Take One included a 1.5 page interview with Frank Zappa by Joe Medjuck, between sets at the Rockpile.

• This issue of Fusion included a 4-page FZ story / interview from may-69 in London by Miles Associates, plus a full page reprint of the straight records ad for the trout mask replica album originally published in rolling stone.

• This issue of Salut Les Copains included an 11-page article on Amougies, with 1 small photo of FZ.

• 'Go Wixyo' was a weekly mag, issued by local radio stations. Wixyo is out of Cleveland. The December 17 1969 issue of 'Go Wixoyo' included a one-page 'Zappa Interviewed' piece, plus a one page article entitled 'The Mothers: a disassocated & dispassionate retrospective' by Frank Zappa...and which he calls: "Whatever happened to the Mothers of Invention".

• 'Go WMCA' is the same mag as the one mentioned above, but it's out of NYC.

• This issue of Danish magazine Wheel included a translation of a FZ interview from ZigZag '69 by D.Lawson.

• The December 1969 issue of Best included a special on the Amougies festival.
