rainer tankred pappon Rainer Pappon was born in the city of São Paulo, 1961, and he plays guitar and bass. He grew up listening to the good sounds of the 70's, such as Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Egberto Gismonti, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Hermeto Pascoal, Focus, Yes, Gong, Jeff Beck. He has played with many Brazilian artists like Wanderleia, Fellini, Skowa, Projeto ZZ, Blues Combo, Tonelada, Loren Dae, O Cesto, Anna Ruth, Orquestra Paulista de Soul, Isla Jay, Jamp, Reynaldo Bessa, Lira de Berlim, Edvaldo Santana, Marcos Bowie and Sambatuque (Alemanha). Rainer Tankred Pappon plays the lead guitar in The Central Scrutinzer Band, a band from São Paulo, Brazil, that performs the music from Frank Zappa. In 1997 they played 2 gigs at the Bourbon Street, a local jazz joint, with a very special appearance by Ike Willis, the singer and guitar player who had been in Frank's band for the previous 10 years, and Ike's also guested on Rainer's second CD 'The Blurps', as well as Zeca Baleiro and Gigante Brazyl. Rainer Pappon, and the members of The Central Scrutinizer Band also contributed to Fabio Massari's book on Zappa: "Detritos Cósmicos":
