the foolz

The Foolz are a Dutch Zappa (re)cover band, formerly known as the Dancin' Foolz. After the departure of Marcel Kemp in 1999, the band continued as The Foolz.

In 2003, the band released an all-Zappa music album called "Live In The Cherrytree". One of the tracks from the album can also be found on "Lemme Take You To The Beach", the Zappa Surf tribute album on Cordelia records.

July 2004, The Foolz performed at the Zappanale festival in Bad Doberan, Germany. Parts of the concert can be found on the "Zappanale # 15" album.

In 2007, The Foolz contributed their version of Frank Zappa's 'The Idiot Bastard Son' to "20 Extraordinary Renditions", Andrew Greenaway's project that got released on Cordelia Records.
The info said:
THE FOOLZ - an acoustic version recorded on Wednesday 8 August just after Zappanale #18 (the plan was to record a version at the festival in Big Blue, with the Zappateers singing along; I fear attempts were thwarted by Lübzer beer!). This version was produced by keyboard man, Wan.
Personnel: Pedro Steneker (bass); Lex Kemper (guitar); Wan Kemper (melodica); Remco Aalhuizen (air guitar).
