from CDBaby:

Classic live gospel performances from 1984 by the late Junior Franklin with his group The Golden Echoes, featuring Jimmy Carl Black.

Download-only release!

The late Ermant "Junior" Franklin was previously in The Mighty Clouds Of Joy. Franklin decided to form the Texas-based group The Golden Echoes after discovering the excellent gospel singing sisters Lisa, Jackie and Claudia Bonner. The backing band featured former Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention drummer Jimmy Carl Black, keyboardist Alvin Hennington (aka Cool Breeze), Dave Franklin and Larry Wilson (guitars) as well as bassist Chuggie Hernandez.

This performance was recorded live at KUT's studio in Austin, Texas on June 26, 1984 for the program "Live Set."
