rain

the "Norsk Suite" promo says:
"Rain, Norway's most well-kept secret has finally been told! This great band has only released a very rare 45 EP as a soundtrack for the Norwegian movie Rivalen. Very much like Frank Zappa and The Mothers, Rain's complex compositions were based on the skills of modern classic composers such as Varèse and Stravinsky. They've also mentioned Vanilla Fudge as another strong influence. Ten great tracks with horns and orchestral arrangements, with great fuzz guitar, Hammond organ and amazing vocals. Rain were a Norwegian rock band who had the urge to exceed limits, both musically and technically. Members included Carl Jørgen Kiønig on drums, Knut Heljar Hagen on organ, piano, vocals, and bass, and Åsmund Feidje on guitar, violin, vocals, and bass. This album was recorded in 1969/1970. Besides seven of their own compositions, they play mind-blowing versions of "A Day in the Life," "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Isolation." Their very complex and difficult arrangeme! nts required a lot of practice to turn their concerts into a total experience with a spectacular psychedelic light-show and experimentations with "surround" sound. Includes a 20-minute long bonus track."
