Jane Gilday recorded Don Van Vliet's 'Sugar Bowl' for a Beefheart tribute album on Genus Records.

Jane Gilday is a painter, musician, and writer, who has been based in the New Hope-Lambertville area for the last decade. She works in three primary directions: landscapes, decorative pattern pieces, and illuminations. Gilday paints onsite and from memory, with most landscapes emerging as syntheses of scenes seen and re-combined into imaginary, but archetypal, vistas. The “illuminated” aspect appears on frames, made by the artist, which are an integral part of the finished work. In the ancient tradition, frames are engraved, decorated, and often gold-leafed and glazed with washes of earthtones.
