fred jackson

the all-music guide has done it again.  there are two fred jacksons and the amg has combined them into one.  i was reposting their information here for awhile, until the real fred jackson was kind enough to step forward and set the record straight:

i just read the information on fred jackson, and since i am fred jackson, i wanted to clear up the misinformation here...
the picture is of me, from the grand wazoo album, however most of the write up is information on a tenor player (fred jackson), whom i beleive is originally from atlanta. 
that was the other fred jackson with little richard's band and with lloyd price...i was still is grade school at that time.
i came out of military service in 1965; was with ray charles' band 1967 and 1968 and graduated from california institute of the arts 1970... the information from 1971 on is me. 
i'm still active in the studio and live engagements around la...

i am writing to let you know that there is also a third fred jackson.  my name is jackie jackson and my husband is fred jackson, an 83 yr old jazz/blues vocalist here in charlotte, nc.  he has recently recorded his first jazz cd entitled:  moving on.
