?? lp-bootleg ?? love situation 10002

from "Rollin Red's Big Bad But Beautiful Book of Beefheart Bootlegs - Volume #2" (Apocalypse) / 1995 :
"198? single bootleg It's Too Hard - It's Beefheart on Love Situation 10002 is another beautifully designed vinyl package pressed possibly around 82/83 & I would guess in a limited number (as I know only a handful of people who have a copy!) I particularly like the b&w vliet-eque artwork on the front sleeve that reminds me of the extremely rare A&M PS EP (which was withdrawn almost as soon as it was released) Again a professional official looking lable gives it the appearance of a stock copy.
To be frank, the sound isn't as clean as the majority of recordings that have made their way onto vinyl, but certainly worth a listen! Bill Pircz assures me that it was from a '78 show but I'd bet a pint of Brghton's China Pig that it's 80/81 (in fact the tracks are familiar, & if it wasn't for the deadline being some 6 weeks late already, I'd dig out a tape or two and try & place where it's culled from!)
Full track list is listed but I'd say the highlights are a sizzling Dirty Blue Gene & unlisted Flavour Bud Living (from Mr.Gary Lucas.. I'd presume) Side 2 for some obscure reason is Frank Zappa's "The Talking Asshole" which of course doesn't feature Don at all!!) This is followed once again by the Avalon Ballroom cuts. So a worthy addition to keep them eyes & ears open for!"
